Armpit Detox and Natural Deodorant

Did you know that even your armpits need a detox every now and then?

It turns out that if you've been using a commercial deodorant for years, you may need to detox your armpits before switching to a natural deodorant.

Other signs that it might be time for an armpit detox: you rely heavily on antiperspirants and/or deodorants, you have a strong body odor even when wearing deodorant, or your armpits are itchy, irritated, or bumpy.

Why Switch to a Natural Deodorant?

Commercial deodorants use chemicals to prevent our armpits from doing what they are naturally suppose to do! These chemicals do not just sit on the skin in the armpit, but are absorbed into the body. So, not only are we not sweating out toxins, we are adding toxic burden to our body!

What Will an Armpit Detox Do?

  • Break the skin’s reliance on antiperspirants

  • Cleanse the surface of the skin

  • Calm irritation and inflammation

  • Lessen excessive sweating

Armpit Detox Recipe

There are many recipes out there for an armpit detox. Here is just one you can try.

  • 1 t. apple cider vinegar

  • 1 T. Bentonite clay (1 tablespoon)

  • 1-2 t. water

  • 1-2 t. coconut oil, melted (optional)

Try a little dry brushing prior to applying the paste to stimulate your glands and increase circulation. Mix into a paste and apply onto armpits. Let sit for about 5 minutes, rinse off with warm water.

Repeat daily for 2-6 weeks, gradually increasing the length of time you leave on, up to about 20 minutes.
