Until recently I have not carried or tried this cleanser or oil because of the names, Shave Prep + Daily Wash, and Finishing Oil. My thinking was I do not shave my face, so I don't need these, but wow have I been missing out!
SHAVE PREP + DAILY WASH
Marie Veronique describes the Shave Prep + Daily Wash cleanser in the following way:
This lightly foaming daily cleanser removes dirt and excess oil and preps the skin for a close, comfortable shave. Willow bark penetrates deeply to soften hair follicles, while lactic acid exfoliates to counteract congestion and dull texture. The result is deep cleansing and smooth shaving without stripping or drying the skin.
Here is why I am loving this cleanser (Especially when my car says 138 degrees!):
It is foamy! I love a good foamy cleanse in the heat of the summer. I do my oil cleanse first to remove the day off my face (zinc, sweat, oil, dirt), and then do a second cleanse with Shave Prep + Daily Wash.
It contains Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate the skin, clearing pores and smoothing the skin.
It contains Vitamin B and Algae to calm inflammation, promote wound healing (great for inflammation & acne), and boost hydration.
It contains Willow Bark - A long time favorite ingredient of mine for inflammation & breakouts.
It is a deep, gentle, calming, healing cleanser that is good for all skin types.
It is perfect for acne, inflamed, and irritated skin.
And again, it is so light and so foamy! You get that clean feeling, while protecting and rebuilding the barrier of your skin.
For those of you that still crave that squeaky clean feel, but realize you have stripped your skin too much with harsh cleansers, this is your new go to!
FINISHING OIL
Marive Veronique describes the Finishing Oil in the following way:
Shaving strips layers from the skin, resulting in compromised barrier function and depleted skin health. This oil blend replaces the essential components of the stratum corneum—cholesterol, free fatty acids and ceramides—to restore optimal performance of the epidermal and barrier layers. Formulated with sandalwood seed oil, it enhances dermal microcirculation, which increases nutrient delivery to the entire skin system. Here is why I am loving this oil:
It contains Sandalwood Seed Oil which boosts circulation.
It contains Pumpkin Seed Oil and Cranberry Seed Oil for brightening.
It contains Emu oil for inflammation.
Increased circulation means better nutrient delivery and faster absorption, so for those that don't like a greasy feel, this oil rapidly penetrates the skin.
It is fabulous for barrier repair, whether from shaving, excess exfoliation, environmental damage, etc.
It will be my go to recommendation for acne, inflammation, and oily skin that does not want the feel of a heavy oil.
